In memory of one of the leaders of the CDBIA, the E. Jay Carlson Award was presented this year to Jim Sanders, AR Homes by Arthur Rutenberg.

Jay Carlson dedicated his life to the building industry. He was a leader who gave us a strong foundation. His legacy will continue on with future leaders in the industry. That is The Carlson Way.

Jim is a charter member of the CDBIA and has served as president in 2000 and 2008. Jim is still heavily entrenched with his CDBIA family,  helping grow education programs for the future builders and growing the CDBIA family through membership. He has been a mentor to many of our members. During this year, his essential building companies continued to work. They decided to donate back to our community and presented a nurse, who worked in a local hospital’s COVID unit a new bathroom as a thank you for their dedication to helping our community. We thank Jim for all he has done to continue to serve the building industry.
